The best picture of Draken Harald Hårfagre?

We have a great media team onboard Draken, they have taken stunning pictures of the ship and have produced amazing film clips. We also know there are thousands and thousands of pictures taken of our beautiful Viking ship along the route. We want to celebrate all the photographers, amateur or professional, mobile phone camera or high tech lens, by announcing a photo competition!

The competition starts today and will be open until Wednesday September 21st 12 am. If you do not have a picture yet? There is still a chance to take stunning pictures when Draken sails into NYC on Saturday September 17. She will sail alongside the south western shore of Manhattan starting from Liberty Island around 9.30, sail around the southern tip, turn around passing the Statue of Liberty around 11am and sail into the North Cove Marina for a great welcoming ceremony at 11.30.

The price? To come along on a day sail with Draken on Hudson River Friday September 23rd, meet our media director Peder Jacobsson, the captain Björn Ahlander and the crew – the photoshoot of a lifetime!

How do you compete? Post your picture to bestpic@drakenexpeditionamerica.com or upload it on Instagram with the #-tags #bestpicofdraken #drakenexpeditionamerica and tag @drakenharaldharfagre in the picture before 12am September 21st. We want to know the story behind the picture (briefly) and where and when it was taken. If you compete by e-mail we want your name and contacts along with the picture in jpeg, not heavier than … kb. If you compete on Instagram you have to have an open account and you will be contacted by direct message. The pictures in the competition could be posted in our channels, of course with credit to you – if you want us to credit in a certain way please write it in the e-mail or the description.

A jury from the Draken Harald Hårfagre crew will pick the winning picture and their decision can not be argued. The winner will be contacted before 8pm Wednesday September 21st.

We are going to choose a winner and 2 runner ups. The winner will be invited to a day sail with Draken Harald Hårfagre September 23rd from North Cove Marina, Manhattan, NYC, a meeting with our photographer Peder Jacobsson and our captain Björn Ahlander (and of course the crew who sails the ship). If you win you have to travel to NYC your self, the project does not pay for transportation to the marina. The two runner ups will win one gift pac each with a crew t-shirt, signed photo book and posters. The winning pictures will be published with credentials on Draken Harald Hårfagres channels!
