MEET THE CREW! Pelayo, watch leader. Background: “When I am not on Draken I am a marine biologist. But I grew up sailing on the island of Mallorca, in Spain, until I settled in Bergen, Norway. That was where I got involved with Draken for her sail trials in 2012.” Favorite Draken Moment: “At the helm, 30 hours from Newfoundland, running from the wind between icebergs, making 7 knots with just the standing rigging and braced yard, sail given up, the waves breaking at the rails on our aft.” Final thoughts: “The Norse called these ships ‘sea snakes’ and the Draken lives up to their reputation.”
We’ve been told many times that the Draken is a magical place... @knottedbone_leatherworks and @poisondahlia seem to agree! Congratulations! #DrakenHaraldHårfagre #VikingWeekend

The Vikings were accomplished navigators, artisans, traders and story tellers, but their greatest triumph was the ships they built.
